Recently I was sent some AI generatred pie recipes to look over. My thoughts? Well yah, they are pie, but not anywhere near what a great pie can be.

Very cool idea! The blood cherry images were hilarious. I wonder what ChatGPT would do with a more regional-specific recipe like pierogies or tamales? Or dumplings? Very fun way to use ChatGPT.

Agree. Something like a cook's ingenuity is missing.

I think Midjourney is tired of me asking for images but here is a pierogie with dill beets recipe:

Here's a recipe for making pork and cheese pierogies with dill beets. This recipe serves 6-8 people.

Ingredients for Pork and Cheese Pierogies:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1/2 cup water

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

1/4 cup chopped onion

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sour cream

Ingredients for Dill Beets:

4 medium beets, trimmed, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

To make the dough for the pierogies, combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the eggs and water. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 minutes.

While the dough is resting, make the filling. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent. Add the ground pork and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool. Add the grated cheese and mix well.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the dough into circles using a biscuit cutter or a drinking glass. Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal the pierogi. Repeat until all the dough and filling have been used.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the pierogies into the water and cook for 3-4 minutes or until they float to the surface. Remove the pierogies with a slotted spoon and place them in a serving dish. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and pour it over the pierogies. Serve with sour cream.

To make the dill beets, preheat the oven to 375°F. Toss the beet pieces with olive oil, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes or until the beets are tender. Serve the beets alongside the pierogies.

Enjoy your homemade pork and cheese pierogies with dill beets!
