I’m a huge fan of Hildegard. From beer to baking to remedies that were certainly welcome during her time, she was a force. I’m only sorry that you had to meet her the way you did. Thank you for sharing your story. Be well, breathe, and blessings to you.
Thank you so much! I don't know how I've missed her all these years but, you know, it was worth it to be friends with her now! Just received a copy of Hildegard's Physica, with all her incredible thoughts and recipes for cures. Haphazardly opened up to a cure for eye diseases such as leucoma: bile from a wild goose to which you add twice the amount of wine and smear it over the eyes with a feather.
Amazing, inspiring story! I'd never heard about Hildegard. Her vision of receiving enlightenment looked like some sea creature's tentacles enveloping her head. Not how I'd picture it. Glad you found that rosemary and lavender under all that snow in Brooklyn!
Because we all know you’re ok, this was a delightful read! I, too, struggle with some mental health things and have had my own day’s spent searching for comfort. I loved the storytelling here as well as getting to hear about Hildegard!
Thanks for being so supportive, friend! I sort of was a little "eeeccckkkkkk, it's so personal!!!!!" but mental health needs to be acknowledged more in a friendlier way and Hildegard is a woman who believes we're all ok, just, you know, special. In the meantime, rosemary and lavender, they're a beautiful thing!
Thank you and yes, if I was a religious woman, I would say it was no accident but then maybe it was. In any case, Hildegard is incredible and I'm glad I met her!
Great to hear you came out to the other side, old friend. Enjoying your posts. Hugs!
I really appreciate that--it means a lot coming from you!
My sweets, I love you and I'm sure many can relate. Sorry you had to go thru such a scary few days.
Ah, it was just 24 hours. Thank God for Chris!

Sort of reminds you of Frida Kahlo doesn't it? Hope you're not too snowed in yourself.
Back at you! And like you aren't brave yourself!

I completely agree ❤️ Thanks for being brave and talking about these things for all of us!
I'm glad for your happy ending! Amazing that you made such an interesting discovery along the way.
