I can’t find bluing anywhere in my town. I was on a hunt a few months back and no place, not even our general store that has everything, had it. 🙁

The image of the linens and thinking about the chore of ironing them to perfection resonates with me. I have luncheon cloths and matching napkins galore from my grandmother and mother. I guess luncheon cloths did not cover the entire table? I am surprised that you can still buy bluing. It must have been a satisfying feeling to complete your task.

Beautiful story about linens. Then we have to think back to the different kinds of old looms, the thread, where did the fiber come from, who stitched them together with great care in the embroidery and other details.

Yeah you can! I found it right next to the Clorox. All those school uniform blouses that used to be soaked in that stuff. And it works. Maybe the smaller one is a luncheon cloths. They're now all piled on the couch to refold. This will be my Wednesday night.
