Pat, I loved this--a sweet reminder of the good times many years ago, when I was married to an Oakland CA firefighter and invited to join the guys for meals on occasion. And also--on days off--to go with them to Point Reyes for abalone fishing. Their friendships are a remarkable bond. And yes, the cooking can't be beat! Thanks for the memories. 🧡
